WWE legend Jeff Hardy has tested positive for Covid-19.

The Charismatic Enigma was due to appear at recordBAR in Kansas City for a meet and greet event after this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, but the venue revealed he will no longer be taking part as he is isolating.

In a post on Facebook, the venue said: ‘We regret to inform you that the event with Jeff Hardy to take place on Monday July 26, 2021 at recordBar in Kansas City, MO will have to be postponed to a later date.

‘Jeff Hardy just tested positive for covid this morning, and will have to quarantine for the next two weeks, and will not be participating in any live events for the next two weeks.

‘For now, all tickets will be held to await a rescheduled date. Once the new date is announced, if you cannot attend the new date, please email [email protected] for a refund.

‘You will receive another email from us when the new date is announced.’

Neither Jeff nor WWE has made an official comment on the matter.

The former world champion’s enforced absence is unfortunate timing for WWE, as last week’s episode of Raw was his first one-on-one match on the red brand since the middle of June.

He came out to the roar of the crowd with his beloved theme song No More Words also making a return, and he faced off against Karrion Kross in the NXT Champion’s main roster debut.

There had been some speculation the pair could have been set for a storyline together after Hardy stole a win over Kross with a sneaky pin helped by his feet on the ropes.

The result – and the NXT champ’s presentation on Raw – was widely panned by fans who thought the de facto leader of the black and gold brand should have looked stronger for his first appearance in front of the red brand’s wider audience.

Indeed, there had been a chance the company could have sought to right the wrong on this week’s show, but that seems unlikely with Jeff now out of action for a couple of weeks.
