I’m drowning in love,” declared actress and social media influencer Maymay Entrata about the current state of her heart, especially after she revealed on Instagram recently that she already has a Canadian boyfriend.
The 24-year-old actress is currently in Canada to finish her studies. Online reports named Maymay’s guy as Aaron Haskell. She posted a photo of him for the first time on Valentine’s Day.
“I’m happy here in Canada. I’ve long wanted to study abroad, even before I became an actress. My mom knows this,” said Maymay during a virtual chat organized by the cosmetics brand Meagan Beauty, which the actress endorses.
“My February had been really fun. My heart was happy because I got to spend time with someone special (referring to Aaron). Another reason my February was memorable was that a lot of the members of my family celebrated their birthdays this month. We would communicate with each other almost every day,” she began.
“It had been a memorable month. I almost drowned in love. This was also because we welcomed a new member of the family. My cousin just gave birth, so I’m really happy,” Maymay declared.
During the media gathering, Maymay was asked several questions about how she practiced self-love through the years. She admitted that the process it took for her to finally feel confident had been “long and difficult.”
‘Just be yourself’
Maymay, with voice cracking, added: “I had not planned on being emotional. I just want to say that you should never base your definition of beauty according to how other people define it. There’s a lot of noise outside that will really affect how you see yourself. Never fall for that. If you rely on the approval of other people, you will never be happy. You will never feel satisfied.
“At the end of the day, it’s still wonderful to hear that people appreciate you because of the beauty you have, that they know you feel confident because you’ve learned to accept what you have and don’t have,” she pointed out. “It’s so much better to be appreciated because you’re you. The bottom line here is to just be yourself.”
She was also asked if she has ever committed a beauty-related mistake when she was younger. To this, Maymay said: “It’s more about my insecurities in relation to my physical characteristics. This had a huge effect on my confidence. My advice to young girls: Accept your limitations and be aware of your capabilities.
“Don’t forget that in accepting these flaws, you can make things perfect. What I mean is that when you will no longer feel affected by what other people are saying about you, your true beauty will come out. You will also be more understanding of the people who criticize you. You’ll just say, ‘They’re just sad about their lives, that’s why they come after you.’”
Maymay added that when you change your outlook, you will also be able to easily appreciate the people around you. “Never allow your insecurities to eat you up. Some day, we will all celebrate our beauty by forgiving ourselves and those who have hurt us. But for now, we should first accept that we have limitations and that we shouldn’t be ashamed that we have them. They are part of what will complete us as a person,” she declared.
Maymay was then asked to describe what for her is a stress-free day. She explained: “As we get older, we take on more responsibilities and obligations in life. To be honest, I can’t help but feel stressed because of all of them. A stress-free moment for me would be the time when I’ve finished all the things I need to do for work and for my studies, and when I’ve already cleaned the house. I really can’t sleep if I’m not done with all of them.
“I don’t want to just stop and continue the following day because, then, they would just pile up and I’d end up feeling more stressed. It feels great to know that you have done everything you’re supposed to do and have nothing more to worry about. To relieve stress, I like watching movies and eating ice cream, which cools me down when I’m feeling so hot and bothered inside.” INQ
