We simulated Manchester United vs West Ham to get a score prediction

Manchester United take on West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday in what could be a huge game for the Reds’ top four hopes.

West Ham currently sit two points ahead of United and occupy the fourth place spot in the league table, but a win on Saturday for the Reds will put Rangnick’s side a point ahead of the Hammers with a game in hand.

United got back to winning ways in their last outing, as goals from Anthony Elanga, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford handed United a 3-1 victory away to Brentford, and the Reds will be looking to carry their momentum into the big clash on Saturday.

The reverse fixture saw David De Gea save a late penalty to hand United a 2-1 win, but a lot has changed at the club since, with that victory the last time United were genuinely considered title challengers.

Paul Pogba and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will remain absent on Saturday, whilst muscle injuries to Luke Shaw and Edinson Cavani make the duo a doubt. Jadon Sancho may be sidelined again after missing the Brentford game due to personal reasons.

And Rangnick may keep Harry Maguire on the bench after Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane’s impressive display together midweek.

So, what line-up will Rangnick select? And, what could the final score be?

We used FIFA 22 to get a score prediction for Man United vs West Ham on Saturday and this is what happened…

Manchester United v West Ham score predicted by simulation

We used kick-off mode in FIFA 22, but didn’t select a team to control, we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a score prediction.

We predict that Manchester United could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: De Gea; Dalot, Lindelof, Varane, Telles; Fernandes, Fred, McTominay; Greenwood, Ronaldo, Elanga.

We predict that West Ham could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Fabianski; Coufal, Dawson, Diop, Cresswell; Soucek, Rice; Bowen, Lanzini, Fornals; Antonio.

West Ham flew out of the blocks in the first half an hour, as they threw everything at United, but as has been the case all season, David De Gea made a handful of saves to keep United in the game.

The Reds failed to create any dangerous chances in the first half, in what was a lacklustre opening 45 minutes for the home side, but they came close to an opening goal after 65 minutes when Ronaldo clipped the post.

The striker picked up the ball on the edge of the box and was waiting for support which was slow to arrive, so the 36-year-old tried his luck with a curling effort from range, only to hit the outside of the post.

But in the latter stages of the game, West Ham were in the ascendancy yet again, and the Hammers took the lead with just over 10 minutes to go through Pablo Fornals.

The Spaniard snuck in-behind Diogo Dalot at the far post and was found by Michail Antonio in space, with the Spaniard hitting a first-time strike low towards the near post, beating De Gea to put the visitors ahead.

It went from bad to worse though for United just five minutes later, when Declan Rice scored to make it 2-0, and there wasn’t much time left for United to respond.

Jarrod Bowen stung the gloves or De Dea who had scrambled across his goal to make an incredible save, but the second ball fell into the path of the unmarked Rice who evaded the late challenge from Varane and fired into an empty net.

Despite some late pressure from Rangnick’s side, they were unable to find a goal as the game finished 2-0 to West Ham.
