Tottenham step up pursuit for £26m defender

Tottenham are eyeing Genoa’s Radu Drăgușin as they step up their pursuit of a new defender, according to The Telegraph.

The report says Spurs have been looking at the 21-year-old as one possible target next month.

Drăgușin helped the Italian club to get promoted to the Serie A last season and has continued to impress this season.

Spurs sent scouts to watch him against Juventus last week – a game that ended 1-1 with Juve only scoring from the penalty spot.

A January move for the Romanian is expected to cost at least £26m.

Man Utd not expecting to do business in January

Man Utd have said they do not expect to do transfer business in January.

As reported by BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone, club CEO Collette Roche said: “We have been consistent in saying we do not see Jan as the optimal time to do business.”

Liverpool ‘not in race to sign Palhinha’

Liverpool are no longer in the race to sign Joao Palhinha, reports suggest.

Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has reported the Reds will not pursue a deal for the Fulham star in January.

This has opened the door for Bayern Munich who were previously interested in the summer, though they considering the a deal to sign him to be too expensive.

However, Palhinha is said to be holding talks with a number of top clubs.
