SATURDAY ROUNDUP

History was made at the prestigious George Bossi Lowell Holiday Wrestling Tournament over the weekend as the Tildsley brothers became the first set of siblings to win three titles apiece.

Sidney Tildsley captured the 138-pound title when he pinned Shea Morris of Haverhill in 1:50. One match later, James Tildsley defeated Nick Fatone of Norwalk, Conn. 10-4 to put the brother tandem in exclusive company.

Prior to Saturday, the only brothers to amass five titles were the Diamonds of Wellesley (Dean and Yanni), the Pedros of St. John’s Prep (Jimmy and Mike) and the Sheehans of Lowell (Pat and Brian). The Tildsleys also joined a group of 15 wrestlers to amass three individual championships. The Tildsleys were joined in the three-timer club by Thomas Brown of Chelmsford, who pinned Gabriel Thomas of Brookline at 1:44 to capture the heavyweight title.
