Mum, 27, drops dead washing clothes after ‘machine gives her fatal electric shock’ – World News

A mum died while doing her laundry after a suspected electric shock from her washing machine.

Tais de Oliveira Rost is reported to have been on her own at home when the tragedy happened earlier this week.

The 27-year-old from the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul was found by her boyfriend on Monday.

William Bottega called the emergency services straight away, but they couldn’t save her.

Mr Bottega, who had been been dating the mum for a month, paid tribute to her on Facebook and described her as a “special person”.

Tributes have been paid to the young woman

He wrote: “I will love you today and always, for being that special person who came into my life.

“I ask God to comfort our hearts. It hurts a lot, it doesn’t seem real. Until we meet again…”

The post-mortem report has not yet been published, but the strong suspicion is that the 27-year-old was killed by an accidental electrical discharge from the washing machine while she was washing clothes.

The Civil Police – Brazil’s investigative police force – are investigating the incident and preliminary information seems to confirm the discharge may have come from a bare wire.

Police spokesperson Joao Vitorio Barbato has told reporters that the young woman had no known pre-existing health conditions that may have contributed to her untimely death.

The mum-of-one worked at a clothing store and was due to start work with another company the very next day – on Tuesday.

The results of the post-mortem will reportedly be available in around two weeks’ time.

This comes as last week another mum died suddenly, this time while holidaying in Jamaica.

Businesswoman Eshe Symonds, from Tipton, West Midlands, died on January 13 and her family is now awaiting a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of her death.

The only information available about how she died is that she had been complaining of a headache, stomach pains and vomiting while out in Jamaica.

Eshe, who ran a security business in Birmingham, was described as a “great mum” who “lived life to the full”.

“She has a little girl called Shaya. Our dad Michael has cancer at the moment so this had dealt him another huge blow.
