A popular local radio DJ died two days after being taken to hospital with Covid-19.
Simon Bolton, 54, had worked on Zetland FM, based in Redcar, Yorkshire since it was launched in 2015.
He tested positive for coronavirus and was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough on Wednesday, December 22.

His wife Joanne said Simon, who is dad to Leyla, 16, passed away suddenly on Friday but doctors are currently unsure as to how he died, TeesideLive reports.
Joanne, who has been married to Simon since 2004, said: “He was well-known by people. He had a good gob on him, he could talk for England!
“He kept himself in the know, especially with the Boro and music.
“Being a radio presenter was what he wanted to do. Radio Revivals was his passion. It was the stuff that never got played and that’s what he preferred.”
Simon, born in Redcar, attended Sacred Heart School between 1979 and 1984.
The life-long Middlesbrough FC fan was well-known due to his involvement with the Boro Supporters Club.
Despite suffering health problems, including having his leg amputated, Simon continued to produce his radio show from his home in Redcar.
On Boxing Day, Zetland FM issued a touching tribute to a ‘colleague and friend’.
They posted on social media: “It’s with great sadness that we bring you the news that our Zetland FM colleague and friend Simon Bolton has died.
“Simon passed away on Christmas Eve after a very short illness.
“Simon was a part of Zetland FM since our launch in 2015 and presented many programmes on-air, including our Monday sports show, weekend breakfast, and the Friday rock show.
“Most recently, Simon’s regular ‘Radio Revivals’ programme on Zetland FM showcased his great passion for music from all genres and eras, and also his immense knowledge of bands and artists.
“His favourite band was The Beatles, and whenever was on air he would always try to squeeze a track from them into his show.
“Simon will be hugely missed by all his colleagues, friends and listeners at Zetland FM and we send our heartfelt condolences to his wife Joanne, daughter Leyla, family and friends.”
In October last year, the radio station sadly lost another of their presenters.
Julie Donaldson, who presented the ‘Morning Mix’, died following a tough battle with coronavirus.
The 50-year-old spent several weeks in intensive care at James Cook University Hospital before losing her life.
A celebration evening, hosted by Zetland FM station manager Jeremy Gartland, was held in her memory in November this year.
At the event, her husband John Proudler revealed that the Julie Donaldson Foundation would be launched to support young people in the arts and media.
