Molly-Mae Hague was at the centre of a social media row after PrettyLittleThing was criticised for their social media post to mark 9/11.

Saturday September 11 marked 20 years since the US’s worst ever attack, in which over 2000 people were killed.

PrettyLittleThing, of which Molly-Mae is now creative director, paid their respects with a black and white image of the Twin Towers that were destroyed that day, with words ‘Never Forget 09.11.01’ across it.

When the picture was shared on Twitter it was accused of being ‘branded’ due to the pink colour used in the image, which the reality TV star also posted to her Instagram Stories.

Neither Molly-Mae or PrettyLittleThing have responded publicly to the social media reaction.

Earlier this month the 22-year-old landed her bigegst deal yet as creative director of the popular online fashion brand.

After the news was announced she told the BBC she is ‘not an influencer anymore’.

Molly-Mae added that she is trying to stop the ‘wear once and throwaway’ mantra when it came to fast fashion.

‘I still wear all the same outfits from the very first collection I did with PLT, I always make sure in every collection it’s very versatile, and you’re able to restyle pieces.’

She explained that she even captioned one of her recent pictures: ‘PSA it’s ok to wear the same dress twice.’ has contacted Molly-Mae’s reps and PrettyLittleThing for comment.
