Liza Soberano, who earlier in the year was rumored to have called it quits with longtime boyfriend Enrique Gil, recently opened up about the actor’s upcoming return to the big screen, and the couple “occasionally” spending time together.

In an interview aired on “TV Patrol,” the 25-year-old actress shared that she’s delighted to see her boyfriend thriving, as Gil’s next film project “I Am Not Big Bird” will not only serve as his comeback movie, but also his debut as a producer.

The Victor Villanueva-helmed comedy movie is co-produced by the 31-year-old Kapamilya star’s Make-A-Break Productions, a company he started with his manager, Ranvel Rufino.

“I’m really happy to see him, like, kind of flourishing. The project he’s working on right now is something he’s producing himself. So, I’m really proud of him for that, and very supportive,” shared the “Dolce Amore” actress, who, last year, finished filming the Hollywood film “Lisa Frankenstein.”

With commitments that require a lot of flying, Soberano admitted that the pair isn’t able to spend a lot of time together.

“Yes, every once in a while [we’ll see each other]. I think occasionally, mostly, because we’re both like constantly flying. Like, I’ve been in the States for a while, then, I came back. And then, he’s been flying. So, yeah, it’s very seldom now, but we do, we still do [see each other],” she said.

This year alone, Gil dismissed break up rumors more than once. In his past interviews, he maintained that all is good between them, and that he is also supportive of the actress’ career, including her projects abroad.

Earlier this year, Soberano’s former manager, Ogie Diaz shared that a claim about the pair going their separate ways had reached him. He revealed this in a YouTube video, wherein he also mentioned hearing about his former talent’s “choice” to concentrate on her career.

Meanwhile, following the arrest of the actress-model’s manager and Careless CEO Jeffrey Oh — who reportedly was released on bail in early August the record label’s founder, actor-singer James Reid told Soberano’s supporters to not fret, and disclosed that the former Star Magic talent is cooking up something for her fans.
