Earth Day 2022: DJ Cavem’s free hip-hop, eco-justice fest

Friday. Denver artist and activist Ietef Vita, known by most as DJ Cavem, has taken his eco-hip hop music, message and workshops from Denver to Berlin to the White House (where he was invited during the Obama administration), while collaborating with some of rap’s biggest names. Naturally, he’s sponsored by hippie brand Dr. Bronner’s and has released his music as USDA certified seed packets (with downloads, of course).

On Friday, April 22, he’s holding an all-ages album release show and day of activities as part of Denver’s Earth Day Celebration, at Civic Center park’s McNichols Building. The “Koncrete Garden” party, named after the new album on Vita’s Plant Based Records, is free and includes “Chi’d-Up” yoga, “Inner City Foraging Workshop,” cooking classes, a panel discussion, live Performances from Cavem, Grey PBD and Ra Yoseph, a screening of the film “Can You Dig This?” with noted activist Ron Finley, as well as constant and easy access to the outside festivities (including food trucks, a lowrider bike show, etc.).
