And he posed in a series of luxury designer outfits with expensive accessories.

That includes a Bottega Veneta double denim look complete with his very own £3,900 turquoise quilted-leather Chanel handbag.

And he also teamed up with stylist Harry Lambert to rock plenty more clobber from the likes of Gucci, Prada, Dunhill, Bode and Loewe.

The bold numbers may not be to everyone’s liking – but Calvert-Lewin doesn’t care.

He told GQ: “I am more than happy to be a standard-bearer for new flamboyance.

“Why not? You’ve only got one life. That’s one of my mottos. Do what makes you happy.

“For me, wearing clothes and suits that divide opinion is what I like doing, so I’m going to continue doing it.

“Masculinity is about wearing the clothes on your back with confidence.

“So if you want to wear a skirt or a sarong that might divide opinion but you’re comfortable enough in your skin to do it regardless – that’s true masculinity.”

Fashion and football regularly cross over with Hector Bellerin appearing at Paris Fashion Week, Jesse Lingard launching his own label and Jack Grealish set to land a million-pound Gucci sponsorship.

But Calvert-Lewin’s love of fashion does not always go down well with supporters, especially amid Everton’s struggles on the pitch.

But the ex-Sheffield United forward will not allow the social media trolls to quash a passion that dates back years.

He added: “There are times when it can be overbearing.

“We might play football but we’re human beings too, and we’re open to a lot of criticism.

“Fortunately, I’ve got a loving family around me and a close-knit group of friends. They’re the important people in my life who give me confidence and support me in every way possible.

“It’s difficult for young players to express themselves and live a life which is so under the magnifying glass.

“Sometimes you feel like you can’t let your hair down or feel free as a human being.

“It can get very difficult at times, but a facet of my personality and character is that I like to stand out.”

Calvert-Lewin continued: “It all started with trainers.

“My dad’s brother, my uncle, had a crazy trainer collection, and I remember going to his flat where he had trainers upon trainers, all lined up, and I wanted to take them all even though they were way too big for me.

“I guess my dad was always into clothes too. He did his bit back in the day, telling me about the stuff he used to wear.

“He told me about how he once went out to a nightclub in a skirt.”

Calvert-Lewin has been linked with a big-money transfer to Arsenal this summer as the Gunners look for a new No9.

But with Everton fighting relegation, the 11-cap ace who featured twice at Euro 2020 is focused on survival after scoring just three goals this season so far – but retains hopes of being at Qatar 2022.

He said: “I am a competitor and I don’t like losing.

“We have a great group of lads but recently, especially at Palace, the morale was poor I think due to the fact that we had let the manager, the fans and the club down.

“Eventually I want to win major trophies and be a part of the next World Cup squad and I know my performances in the near future are going to be pivotal in getting me to that position.”
