A young fan has stolen the attention from the middle after his crowd catch attempt was just the start of his story in the match.
The saga of a dropped BBL crowd catch has captured the attention of commentators in the BBL Finals clash between the Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers.
The Scorchers slammed 190 in its 20 overs, having only lost its first wicket for 120.
But the Sixers were never in the chase, limping past 100 and being finally bowled out for only thanks to Ben Dwarshuis slamming a quick 66 to push the score to 140.

The Sixers were 4/21 when Dan Christian strode to the crease, smashing the first ball he faced for six.
But while the ball didn’t reach the crowd, a young fan made a desperate attempt, leaping over the fence and landing sprawled on the turf.
Through the commentators laughing, Adam Gilchrist said: “He desperately wanted to get in the Maccas Classics”.
After copping a bucket from his mates, he jumped up and waved to the crowd as he climbed straight back over.
But the commentators realised he’d jumped over rather than fell, and it didn’t escape security’s notice as they quickly converged.
Gilchrist said: “Surely not”, while Mike Hussey added: “C’mon, leave him there”.
Michael Vaughan also chimed in: “C’mon, it was a decent effort, he went one handed, he did alright, he dropped it. You can’t be throwing him out for that.”
Hussey added: “We’ve all dropped catches in our lives.”
The cameras found the kids again who were clearly checking either the text messages or the replay.
But just minutes later, while speaking to Scorchers star Colin Munro who said, “I’d give him 100 per cent for effort”, he realised the young man was being escorted out of Marvel Stadium.
“That’s unlucky, I don’t know, that’s harsh, I don’t think he’s had any beers or anything,” Munro added. “Probably just had a good time.”
Adam Gilchrist said: “That’s … that’s the world’s gone mad I’m afraid.”
Luckily the a matter of balls later, the Marvel Stadium crowd realised he was coming back to his seat and welcomed him home like a returning hero.
It was entertainment the crowd needed amid the one-sided thrashing.
The result sees the Perth Scorchers through to the Big Final, which will be held at Marvel Stadium, where it will face the winner of the clash between the Sixers and the winner of the final between the Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Thunder, who play off tomorrow night.
