Before taking the world of British comedy by storm, Greg taught as a teacher of English and Drama at a number of schools.
Greg has often used tales of his life as a teacher as hilarious topics in his stand-up comedy routines.
Speaking to the Radio Times , Greg shared a hilarious moment from his teaching career: “I had one buttock-clenchingly embarrassing moment when the head called me in to tell me one of my pupils had nominated me for the prestigious Teacher of the Year award.
“The pupil had to fill in four pages of documentation, but on the form she had simply written one thing. It said: ‘Mr Davies is a well good laugh, and he don’t make us do no work.’
“The head wiped away tears of laughter before throwing the form in the bin.”
Given Greg’s natural sense of humour and charisma, it’s unsurprising that he was so popular with his students.
When it comes to Greg’s love life, he has kept a number of details about his dating history away from public view.
Greg has spoken about a significant relationship he had with a star of British politics.
Greg was in a relationship with Labour MP Liz Kendall for eight years, and the pair remain good friends to this day.

In 2015, the comedian told The Guardian that he did at times consider how things he said on stage may affect his partner Liz.
“If you’re creative and trying to do something that comes from a place of honesty, you can’t clip those wings for any reason,” he said.
“But that’s not to say it wasn’t something I was concerned about. Of course. But I do what I do. What is the point of pretending to be something other than I am?
“It would be ridiculous to start behaving differently. So, yes, something of concern but I’ve never modified what I do, and nor have I ever been expected to.”
