Summer Fridays ShadeDrops Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Mineral Milk Sunscreen, $47, sephora.com SHOP HERE

Maybe the most weightless mineral sunscreen ever: This sunscreen is so silky and fluid, I actually went back and checked the ingredient list to make sure it was really mineral. It is and it’s incredible. See, mineral or physical sunscreens, as they’re sometimes called, bank on filters like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide to reflect rays away from the skin, whereas their chemical counterparts absorb them. Research has shown the mineral variety may last longer on the skin and is easier to tolerate for those on the sensitive side. The only thing is, though, mineral sunscreens have long tended to be thick and heavy and a nightmare to rub in. They also often leave a white or bluish cast, especially on darker skin tones. This one does none of that. Described as a “milk” — think skim rather than half and half — it disappears into the complexion through some sort of wizardry. The only sign it was ever there is the faintest hint of natural, nongreasy radiance, which makes skin look glorious and gets along swimmingly with any makeup you apply on top. It might just be the most perfect mineral sunscreen I’ve ever tried.

Skin Proud Frozen Over Moisturizer, Gel to Ice Hydrator, $20, walmart.ca SHOP HERE

The very cool frozen moisturizer: Skin Proud’s Frozen Over has been all over TikTok lately, so I thought I’d give it a try. My verdict: The hype is totally warranted. The moisturizer’s claim to fame is that it can be used at room temperature to drench skin in refreshing moisture — the clear gel is super light and nonsticky — or you can pop the jar in the freezer for a few hours until the formula takes on a slushie-like texture. Cool, right? Not only does it feel super energizing, it also helps to depuff while serving up hydrating hyaluronic acid and calming aloe vera. Loads of celebs — from Kate Moss to “Emily in Paris” star Camille Razat — swear by the beautifying powers of ice to tighten their skin and increase circulation. This nifty product provides the same benefits while being infinitely more pleasant to apply than actual ice. And if you’re thinking, “Couldn’t I just put any ol’ moisturizer in the freezer and it would do the same thing?” The answer is no. Pretty much all skin care is made to remain stable at room temp, so a trip to the freezer would likely compromise the formula. Translation: Don’t go ruining your La Mer. This one, however, is specifically made to be used frozen. I especially relish it on hot, humid summer mornings or when I haven’t gotten much sleep. Trust me, it’ll wake you — and your face — right up.

Province Apothecary Reusable Silicone Sheet Mask Set For Eyes and Face, $36, thedetoxmarket.ca SHOP HERE

The eye patches that don’t create waste: As much as I love the awakening, smoothing powers of eye patches, I do not harbour affection for how wasteful they tend to be. There really is no justifying any single-use products in my book, no matter how great their results might be. But there is a solution: Meet these reusable eye patches from Canadian brand Province Apothecary. Crafted from silicone, they’re designed to increase absorption of any product you apply underneath like, say, an eye serum, i.e., the same stuff disposable patches are soaked in. In this nifty set, they also come with a reusable sheet mask so you can show the rest of your face some love, too. Slather on your favourite serum — I like to go with something super plumping and hydrating — slap on the mask to lock in the product and let your skin drink up the goodness for 10 to 15 minutes (or more — you decide). Once you remove the masks, gently clean them and store them for next time. Genius!

Haus Labs by Lady Gaga Power Sculpt Velvet Bronzer with Fermented Arnica, $49, sephora.ca SHOP HERE

The bronzer with the most gorgeous skin-like finish: Lady Gaga just relaunched her makeup brand, Haus Labs. The entire range, now available at Sephora, has been revamped and it’s everything you’d expect from Gaga: a riot of jubilant shades (Flame Orange! Teal Shimmer!) and slick-it-like-you-mean-it pigmentation. The whole thing reads like an invitation to forget the rules and just have fun with makeup. I’m all here for it, but for me, the standout happens to be one of the quieter players in the line: the bronzer. The texture is out of this world; a powder that somehow feels as smooth and velvety as a cream. Rarely have I encountered a product that blends this seamlessly. You barely have to buff it in — it just melts on contact with your complexion, imparting a slight blurring effect that makes skin look nearly airbrushed. Truly stunning. Also, it comes in — get this — 12 shades. Twelve! So you can be sure to find your exact match. Looking naturally sun-kissed (the safe way) has never been easier.

The leave-in conditioner that gives you supermodel hair: It is my belief that leave-in conditioners are the unsung heroes of the hair world. Everyone goes on and on about masks and styling sprays and dry shampoo, but believe me: A good leave-in conditioner can be the difference-maker between a great hair day and a not so good one. Sadly, not all of them are created equal. In fact, too many of them tend to weigh down hair and make it sort of oily or gritty, especially if it’s on the finer side, like mine. Which is why I never have high hopes when spritzing a new one. But let me tell you: This one blew me away. Light as a feather, it just disappeared into my hair, covertly infusing it with moisture, courtesy of babaçu and Brazil nut oils as well cupuaçu butter. As they air-dried, my normally scraggly lengths took on the silky, fluffy appearance of Gisele’s mane bouncing down a runway. Shine was amped up, frizz was nixed. My husband followed the sweet, tropical trail leading from the bathroom to our home office: “Something in our house smells amazing!” It was my hair.
